ARCHITECTURE

The role of museums in society has increasingly expanded over the past two decades. The five museums that opened during this period were created with new functions and visions, including involvement in community development, emphasis on learning, and artist-in-residence programs. The philosophy of each museum is clearly reflected in its architecture, but how were the world-renowned architects behind each building able to respond and give form to each of these new visions? We hope that you will take the time to explore the architecture of all five museums during your visit.
